El Dr. Rafael Antún es miembro de la Academia Americana de Cirugía Cosmética con formación en urología, cirugía general y urología en los Estados Unidos. Después de estudiar medicina en la República Dominicana, su país natal, el Dr. Antún comenzó una residencia en el aclamado Centro Médico de la Universidad de Nassau. Luego hizo una residencia quirúrgica en la Universidad de Miami en su programa de urología. Más tarde se convirtió en un miembro de la facultad de medicina allí. En la Universidad de Miami, el Dr. Antún elevó drásticamente su perfil al convertirse en el primer cirujano en realizar una prostatectomía radical a un paciente con trasplante de corazón.
